Pharmacies offering FREE emergency contraception pills

In light of current social distancing guidelines, it is no longer essential for women to attend a pharmacy in person to access emergency hormonal contraception.   However, please note that pharmacies are experiencing huge demand at this high call volumes.

Most pharmacies currently remain open, but all have reduced opening times while they manage staff shortages and increased demand, whilst continuing to prepare prescriptions. Some pharmacies are therefore only offering a reduced service at the moment, so please call in advance to clarify if they can help you.  

Emergency contraception pills (which some people know as 'the morning after pill') can be taken UP TO 120 HOURS after unprotected sex (dependent on the type of pill, and individual case criteria), but is more effective the earlier it is taken
